A 3-Day Walkabout in Paris for your first time there? Euphoric.
I had the pleasure of guiding mother & daughter through the onslaught of July tourism, to visit and enjoy places they’ve only dreamed about — and others they’d no idea even existed. ‘Pinch me, I’m dreaming.’
The daughter, art student, in front of Mona Lisa … she was thrilled and could not believe it. Struck at the heart of inspiration.
Rue Cler in the 7th, my all-time favorite for 25 years and counting, was our ‘home port’. Stationing there, allowed us to unwind at the end of the day. There was no need to travel beyond this gentile old Parisian neighborhood to find relaxing food and drink. It is all right there. Davoli? Our picnic.
The product — their absolute pleasure — becomes my joy, and that stays with me in afterglow.
It is worth every single step taken. For us, we did a 3-Day Walkabout. Seriously. We counted our steps and they translated to 32 miles! So beware! Come armed with ‘best walking shoes ever’, a penchant for seeing beauty around every corner, and an appetite for a fine meal on a Parisian street.
Tour Eiffel is only a 10 minute walk from rue Cler. The crowds were massive but it must be said, the City of Light has well road-mapped and organized lines for best flow.
Skip the line tickets purchased online before arrival, saves hours of time, be it the Louvre, Tour Eiffel, Musee d’Orsay or any other of the popular destinations.
