There is quite a history with the Distillerie Simon AinĂ© in Chalon sur Saone, France …

Producers of fine liqueurs and cognacs, they opened in the mid-late 1800’s and eventually had an export market!

This beautiful CRUCHON or jug, is in perfect condition including its labels, and is the FIRST of a set of two cruchons (jugs), here in Treasures of France. It was found in an attic of Normandy, from the house of the Distillerie Simon Ainé.

Stamp for ‘fabrication’ of pottery (for both) is on the bottom, at Pont-des-Vernes.

It simply glows on the shelf …

Measures 10″ high, diameter 5 inches at fullest round.
